What's up NCW. This is Wholenothalevel! I was one of the founding members of LWA, which was the precursor to NCW. I'm pretty sure the guys that know me from back then are excited to have me here as I am to be here. Hopefully everything works out with the lag, and I can be involved here (with my hectic work schedule)

On-Hold « Result #2 on Nov 11, 2009, 1:47am »
It looks like we are going to have to go on a hold period until the lag gets fixed. It seems test wise, no matter what it still lags. Its disappointing that we actually get a decent game and they go and kill the online. I'm hoping they will have a patch so we can start up, i mean if Namco can do it, fucking THQ needs to get up off their lazy asses and do it. And if not then i will be very pissed as i did so much graphic work for the site. I'm sorry to those that bought 2010 specifically for NCW, i know alot of people did, so hope for a patch so it was not in vain. I've already posted in numerous topics on the community SvR site, who knows if they look at it.
So consider this a temp hold on NCW, nothing will be taken down or changed. Accounts will stay, all that good stuff. Let's just hope a patch comes.
Till then, rant like crazy on gamefaqs and the SvR community site.

Well like i said, i did use a caw minus the paint tool, and it still had lag, i dunno, i will try to run more tests since you guys say with no logos and all that, there is no problem. Its really stupid to have to do that though lol, but i dunno if it even matters since i did a in-game match with Christian and Matt Hardy and it still lagged.
The lag wouldn't be a huge issue if the reverse window was the same as past years, but with it being so small, really sucks up the gameplay.
and 2 i got a new router which excepts or is working currently with only this computer my moms computer and my xbox. I am not able to connect on mine so untill then it may be along time before i post again sorry everyone.

by the looks of it, it seems like for a while, we probally wont be able to use paint and logos, only designs, hopefully this fed wont die due to lag,I managed to make a design only attire, tested it online with a friend and we didnt have much of a problem, it also seems that the default colours cause less lag than customised colours.

Yeah just doing that would basically turn us into a RP only fed, that would kinda defeat the purpose, since everyone wants to play the matches lol. I dunno, honestly i have no idea what to do other than just see what THQ does lol.

It makes me really sad... is there anything we can do in the meantime to maybe keep the matches going still? We'd still RP, but I dunno what you would do to determine the outcome of the matches... it's too much work for someone with a capture card to DL all the CAWS and have the CPU do the matches on legend difficulty and record it. Plus nobody's stats would be what they're supposed to without a lot of work.

Yeah we had a long chat about this. First night, around 12am, no lag. Then the lag started to hit like crazy from then on.
The other night, we did a CAW match, my caw uses the paint tool, as well as logos, believe scorps just has logos, no paint tool, but yeah, lag was there. I then picked a different CAW, one without paint tool, and there is still lag.
Hell even the in-games have lag as i faced him with Christian and he was Matt Hardy. There was a slight less lag, but it was still there.
I agree that this ruins the fed instantly, nothing has ever been this bad where we couldnt work around it. No matter what it seems like there will be lag. Sad that Namco already released a patch for Tekken that clears up the lag on there, yet THQ cant get off their lazy asses and make separate servers for the downloads and for the matches.
I'm probably the last person that would want to say, no NCW, due to all the graphic work ive put in over the course of this entire year, since we ended 09, but i have never seen anything like this lag wise in SvR, 07, 08 and 09 were all fine. Hell me and scorp even went back to 09, to make sure it wasnt our connections... and it was fine on there.
I dont even know how people play through it, i can't bring myself to play like that, i love the reverse window being so small, but when u throw in just that slight lag, it throws it all off.
What to do about it? I honestly do not know. It doesn't seem like anything helps. Only thing that will help is THQ gets the hell up and does a damn patch. Sad too, cause 2010 actually seemed good enough to last.

Nova and myself had a match the very first night of release with logs and shit absolutely no lag.
So I really don't think thats the problem. Using in-game's would be fine with me but we have had matches where lag will still show up midway through in the match. I find it highly unlikely that most of the guys will switch to in-games only as well.
I really think lag is caused but all the uploading/downloading it really seems to be the only thing that can be causing this damn lag this year.
I don't know what to suggest other than lets just hope it goes away which is something I doubt will. Unless THQ does something to fix this I don't know what we can do and I really do see the lag end up killing the fed which is the last thing I want to happen.

Lag Discussion (and suggestions) « Result #14 on Nov 5, 2009, 1:32pm »
Hey all,
As we all know, lag has apparently been a huge issue as of late in CAW vs CAW matches. I personally haven't experienced it as of yet, (my internet provider here is pretty fast though), but I'm concerned about how lag will impact our player base.
I'm excited for this e-fed. I love RP-ing, but a component of NCW really is the matches. So, I've got a couple suggestions, please feel free to let me know what you think, good or bad...
1) I don't know for sure, but some have suggested that including logos and images etc that weren't allowed for online play last year, along with the paint tool, is causing a lot of lag. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I would totally remove those from my CAW to help with lag. Is this something anyone else would support/be interested in? I know it takes away from all of our visions of what our CAW should truly look like, but the way I see it,we had to work within those restrictions in years prior, and if it helps with lag, why not?
2) Choosing existing superstars. I know this is a huge deal for a lot of people (myself included), but if it honestly came down to either using guys from the existing roster or not having NCW, I'd go with the existing roster. This really is a last ditch resort, as I think we'd all like to avoid this at all costs (other than the people already playing as guys from the roster, obviously), but if it came down to it, would anyone else do it?
If anyone else has any information, alternatives, suggestions, whatever, give it a go and let us all know.

Over the last few years I've been working on online tools for wrestling games, I lost alot of the tools I had so I'm currently recoding them. Atm, there is only Matchmakers and Draft Lottery for 09 and 10. When I have some time, I will code Matchmakers for 07/08 and LoW. http://www.fliteska.com
Hope you guys enjoy, if there is any problems, just post a message on here and I'll try to sort it out ASAP.

This Wend. Roleplays will be open. Anyone who wishes may begin their storylines and do whatever they wish in the roleplay areas. Next Wend. The 11th the first card will be posted and matches will be placed according to who has roleplayed.
We realize lag is a major issue on 2010, we hope to GOD it gets fixed soon. From what i have seen, and from what i have heard, CAWs seem to lag alot more than In-Game guys, which doesnt help a CAW heavy fed AT ALL, but we are going to see how things go regardless.
There are some CAWs i still need to get off the servers, i will do that shortly. Just have alot of stuff stacked up at the moment. If you havent put yours up yet, please do so.
Also make sure you have your finishers on the finisher list, and that if u are using a CAF, you posted it in the CAF thread. Other than that lets hope things run well, as 2010 seems to actually be a good game , cept that damn lag issue...

Guys I'm having a bit of a cash flow problem, this means I won't be able to pick up the game until Christmas (if I'm lucky). I may be able to rent it a few times but I can't make any promises, I was wondering if I could be granted a leave of absence or sabbatical until I can afford the game. I really was looking forward to it (Even created my wrestler and uploaded him you can still find him if your want Ben Ramber tag NCW) so I hope you guys will let me join in later.

Skylar Davis' History « Result #32 on Oct 29, 2009, 10:40pm »
Skylar Davis' History
Real Name:Nathan Alexander Davis
Ring Name:Skylar Davis
Other Ring Name(s):Sky High, Nathan Hardcore
D.O.B.:December 2nd, 1982 (Age 27)
Home Town:Augusta, Maine
Trained By:Cameron Matthews(Main Trainer) and Pro Wrestling America Staff(Local Federation)
Debut Year:2004
Years Active:2004 - Present
Early Years (2003 - 2004)
Nathan Davis first met Cameron at a local show in Fairfield, ME. He was the then World Champion. After his title defense he was signing autographs and noticed Nathan was in the ring doing springboard moonsaults and horsing around with another fan. Cameron walked over and asked if he wanted to become a wrestler. Without any hesitation Nathan agree and so his long career began.
Pro Wrestling America, Debute, Hardcore Champion (2004-2005)
Nathan Davis was fresh out of training and had his first match as Sky High. As the show started his mentor, Cameron "Champ" Matthews was cutting a promo as a group from a rival company assaulted him from behind. As one of them climbed the turnbuckle, Nathan jumped out from the crowd and pushed him from the top rope and then climbed it him self and took the other three men out with a flying cross body. He grabed the microphone and Sky High was born. After six months and a fractured forearm later, Nathan returned to the ring, but under a new name, Nathan Hardcore. He demanded a title shot and the owner of PWA, Jonathan Sexington III walked out and announced that the main event for the night was a street fight for the Hardcore Championship against the then champion, Jivin' Jimmy Capone. A twenty Minuet long match and Nathan finally finished the match by executing his signature Corkscrew Axe Kick and then nailed the Deleveler knocking Jimmy out cold and won the title.
Time Off, Birth of Skylar Davis(2005-2008)
During his time away from the ring, Nathan got married and had a baby boy, Skylar Michael Davis. While he was out PWA had shut down, due to Bankruptcy.
Finding a New Company, Signing with NCW(2009)
Because of the Closure of PWA, Nathan was in search of a new company. He had some dark matches with both Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling against AJ Styles and Jay Lethal and Ring of Honor against Delirious and El Generico, but neither suited him. Whether it was the schedule or the lack of creative control. So he decided to check over seas and by a strange turn of events met up with Cameron Matthews who just got done his match against the ZERO-1 Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Sonjay Dutt. Cameron introduced him to a couple of ZERO-1 stars, but Nathan didn't like that either. He had heard of a new company re-opening, called Non-Stop Championship Wrestling, so he decided to check it out. After a week of talking with NCW Management, Nathan Davis signed a contract under the ring name of Skylar Davis, named after his son.

Save your code, to use it post in a thread highlight it then click the DM button.

Earn XP without even playing... « Result #48 on Oct 27, 2009, 5:12pm »
Sometimes I like to have the CPU play both players and see how my CAW's do against each other. Needless to say, I was surprised after the match was over and it raised my CAW's stat maximums and I got XP for it (even the losing CAW got 1 XP).
Might be a useful trick if anyone has other stuff they're doing like homework (or in my case, script analysis), you can set it to Legend difficulty, CPU both players, and check back once in a while to rematch.
I've done it a few times on a standard 1v1 match with KO's, Countouts, and Rope Break turned off, and it's usually been either Strike, Grapple, Durability, Tech, or a combination of those that gets increased, sometimes Charisma. I'm sure doing Extreme Rules or TLC will raise Hardcore, Submission matches for SUB, etc etc.
